Listen to your life.  See it for the fathomless mystery that it is.  In the boredom and pain of it no less than in the excitement and gladness:  touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it because in the last analysis all moments are key moments, and life itself is grace.

Frederick Buechner

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.  So throw off the bowlines.  Sail away from the safe harbor.   Catch the trade winds in your sails.
Explore.  Dream.  Discover.

Pilgrimage Description

Join spiritual directors and retreat leaders Kimberly Broerman and Cathy Crosby, as well as other traveling companions for a journey of soul, exploring and discovering the sacred in a land of exquisite beauty and spirituality.  We will start and end our journey together in Rome, spending a week in the heart of Tuscany, and two days in the mystical town of Assisi.  Practicing a rhythm of contemplative prayer and immersion experiences in the sights, smells, sounds, tastes and textures of Tuscany, Assisi, and Rome, we’ll seek to open more fully to the presence of the Divine in ourselves, one another, the people we’ll encounter and God’s whole magnificent creation.

Accommodations

In Rome and Assisi, we will be staying at guest houses provided by local monasteries.  While the rooms are simple, the locations and hospitality are divine.

In Tuscany, we will spend a week in a local farm holiday B & B (called an agriturismo in Italy).  Owned and operated by a local family, this is a working farm that affords the delights of experiencing authentic Tuscan life and hospitality and tasting the fruits of their labor.  We will be staying in one and two-bedroom apartments with private bathrooms, kitchens and common areas.

Costs

The cost of this eleven-day journey is $2,950 per person, based on double occupancy, with a non-refundable registration fee of $250.  Single occupancy may be available at additional cost in some locations.  Costs include all accommodations, transportation within Italy, two daily meals, tips, tours and site entry fees.  They do NOT include international travel, passports, travel insurance (highly recommended), optional activities, excess baggage, telephone/internet charges, laundry, etc.

A payment of $1,350 will be due on April 1, and the remaining $1,350 will be due on May 15.
